B2B FinTech for Treasurers

It is fair to say that last significant innovation in the corporate space for bank relationship, cash management and treasury services was the introduction of the SWIFT for Corporates solution 15 years ago.

Currently, thousands of large and mid-sized corporates don’t have a multiple connection system with dozen (sometime hundreds) of banks, but a single window, which allows to connect directly to the banking system; as a matter of fact, some treasury solutions (mainly for cash management) together with the integration with the large vendors, did improve significantly the day-to-day life of corporate CFOs.

To date, Fintechs mainly had banks or retail customers as their main target: our aim is to connect the FinTech world to various industry CFOs.

Open Banking

Open banking helps financial services customers to securely share their financial data with other financial institutions.

Open Banking

Open banking has been garnering a lot of attention over the past year.

By relying on networks instead of centralization, open banking helps financial services customers to securely share their financial data with other financial institutions. Benefits include more easily transferring funds and comparing product offerings to create a banking experience that best meets each user’s needs in the most cost effective way. It forces large, established banks to be more competitive with smaller and newer banks, ideally resulting in lower costs, better technology, and better customer service.

Through the use of networked accounts, open banking could also help lenders get a more accurate picture of a consumer’s financial situation and risk level in order to offer more appropriate loan terms. It could also help consumers get a more accurate picture of their own finances before taking on debt, and small businesses save time through online accounting and help fraud detection companies better monitor customer accounts and identify problems sooner.

PropTech

The wave of disruptive solutions using innovative technologies recently entered a significant sector of the world economy: real estate. Technology aimed at the real estate industry is positioned to change the way we buy, sell, and manage property.

Although innovation has never been a defining trait of the real estate sector, the arrival of a new breed of players has brought new life into the market’s value chain in the shape of technological solutions: from the modernization of real estate marketplaces, and blockchain-based home buying and selling solutions, new construction and property management software, virtual and augmented reality technologies to enhance property brokerage services, home automation, IoT devices or the leveraging of big data and geolocation.

Between 2011 and 2017, venture capital firms have invested $9 billion in PropTech companies. These new companies, along with the cutting-edge financial institutions, will make a change for the good in the customer experience in the real estate sector.

We believe that fully connecting all the players within the proptech sector will facilitate the innovation process and collaboration.

PensionTech

Pension, today more than ever, is a key topic of discussion and priority topic for 2019 political agenda.

PensionTech

With the comprehensive pension reform adopted in December 2011, Italy has achieved a major step to secure the sustainability of the pension system. Even though the increase in retirement age can be a major driver of savings in the future, the impact of society adaptation was huge. On the other hand, also the Italian private pension pillar is not yet well developed.

Pension, today more than ever, is a key topic of discussion and priority topic for 2019 political agenda. Additionally, to the traditional players, there is now a big range of new entrants working with artificial intelligence, big

data, blockchain, internet of things and so on.

The need for change and innovation in pension is high. As well as in other sectors like FinTech, it is crucial that traditional players (incumbents) have quick and efficient access to the offer of these new developments (and vice versa) in order to remain relevant and collaborate towards an innovation process.

We believe that by empowering change within financial services, we strive to empower consumers and businesses to benefit from better accessible solutions.

InsurTech

Insurtech has rapidly become less of a disruptive threat and is instead increasingly seen as a transformative force.

InsurTech

New and innovative is not enough to define a trend. What really makes a trend is adoption at scale.

Insurtech has rapidly become less of a disruptive threat and is instead increasingly seen as a transformative force.

Throughout the financial services and insurance industries, the core trend is a move toward increased automation as a cost saving mechanism and to improve efficiency. Likewise, the automation of routine activities allows insurance professionals to devote more time to improving the customer’s experience, and to tackling major issues such as cyber-risk in insurance. Other important topic has been and will keep being the use of machine learning, advanced analytics, and sensor technologies to better target consumers, evaluate their demands, and develop tailored solutions to address price risk in real time.

We believe that fully connecting all the players within the insurance sector (start-ups, scale-ups, corporates, innovators and policymakers) will facilitate the innovation process and collaboration among all the stakeholders.

Day 3

15 May 2019 Beyond FinTech

late afternoon illimity

Beyond FinTech

Hosted by illimity, our Innovation Partner of the FTEFEST19, we will talk about two main topics: coopetition and SME Innovation Toolkit. Both of them crucial in the FinTech world, but still not fully understood.

Co-opetition is more than collaboration. It is creating a situation that is mutually beneficial by growing the available market and increasing the demand. Co-opetition between banks and FinTechs can improve the customer experience while bringing the unique strengths of a fintech company (usually the technology, interface, and understanding of client needs) to the massive audiences of the banks.

On the other hand, Credit is one of the most important pillars of our economy and probably the least understood. It is the biggest and most valuable part of the socioeconomic system and represents one of the most valuable markets in the world. In the last years, FinTech has just scratched the surface of the Credit market, but things are changing.
